Welcome to the RCMP Vets' Canteen! |
|
The first recorded meeting of North West Mounted Police [NWMP] ex-members took place in Calgary on April 18th, 1886 at the town hall with 24 ex-members attending. The first recorded dinner of ex-members took place at the Royal Hotel on November 4, 1886.
After some set backs, the NWMP Veterans Association, as it was then known, began to grow and spread to other cities. In 1954 the Association name was changed to the RCMP Veterans' Association. Calgary was the Association head quarters for many years until 1965 when it was moved to Ottawa, the headquarters of the Force. Edmonton Division of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Veterans' Association was granted a Charter on January 01, 1992. The stated purpose of the Edmonton Division Vets Canteen is to operate the gift shop on a non-profit basis, with the proceeds from sales assisting in the support of RCMP Community Policing Programs and events throughout the Province. NEW ITEMS AVAILABLE - OUR CANTEEN WEBSITE IS OPEN 24/7! CANTEEN HOURS: TUESDAY - FRIDAY - 10:00 HRS TO 14:00 HRS |
